This board is used, showing normal wear and tear from use. It is one of our demonstration boards used for testing. 

It is in perfect condition, which I would rate as: almost like a new board.

Sims Fakie is a new board in the Sims collection and at the same time a return of the legend of the 90s. Completely new board shape, unique, with deep sidecuts and a short turning radius, which will satisfy every freerider and carver. Even though the Fakie is quite stiff, this board is agile and responsive, which you will appreciate in short turns between trees or when you are tackling a steep wall. The Fakie has a tapered shape, making it a typical freeride board, built with a focus on one-way riding. A wide, elongated front, flat tail, and a setback that shifts the center of gravity. This creates a profile meant for powder riding, reduces back leg fatigue, and makes riding in deep snow easier. 

Fakie is built on the best Sims MOD 5 core, a combination of American poplar with thin strips of beech wood running along the edges for improved edge grip and stability at any speed. The Sims Directional Wave Form technology enhances core construction by thickening it under the bindings, leading to better shock absorption, flexible performance, and quicker edge-to-edge response with minimal leverage increase. The thin tip technology reduces the board's swing weight, making low-speed maneuvering easier. The 40 mm wide guide made of eco-friendly basalt fiber reduces vibrations and tip chatter at speed. It reduces vibrations caused by our most advanced Tri-Tex fiberglass matrix. Fakie is very fast thanks to the Premium Racing base. 

Traditional camber

A single convex arch between the contact points provides predictable edge hold, load, and rebound when applying and releasing pressure during a rider's turn.

Core - MOD5

By placing beech wood, which has excellent heat resistance, water resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio, and flexibility on both sides, this core offers significantly better response during edge-to-edge transitions.

Tip to tail construction

This is a traditional construction featuring a full wood core from tip to tail, providing a smooth ride, stability, and durability.

Directional wave form

This core, in key places under the bindings in accordance with the setback, is thickened to enhance shock absorption, flex performance, and faster edge-to-edge response with minimal leverage increase.

Sintered Premium Racing base

This base uses a high-density, high-speed base material chosen for its molecular mass, providing unmatched speed, excellent abrasion resistance, and increased wax absorption. 

Flexible board ends

This weight-reducing technology decreases the amount of material at the tip and tail of the board, resulting in less "swing weight," making it easier and faster to perform rotations and tricks.

Tri-Tex fiberglass

This is our most advanced matrix; a 3-directional layout combining lightweight fiberglass at angles of 90 ̊, 45 ̊, and -45 ̊ degrees, providing unrivaled pop, rebound, flex, and twisting in our highest-performance boards.

I Beam Basalt

An eco-friendly 40 mm wide material made from basalt fiber integrated into the core improves damping; naturally reduces vibrations and chatter at speed.

About the manufacturer...

Sims snowboards is a legendary company founded in 1963. It was created by Tom Sims, who also created the first snowboard and snowboarder. He pioneered the first halfpipe, lobbied the skiing community to let us on the lifts, organized the first competitions, and built the first professional team (Tom, Craig Kelly, Kidwell, Salasnek, Palmer). His visions represent today's snowboarding. 

Back in the 1960s, Tom Sims explored ideas of combining skateboarding and surfing with snow. In his school workshop in seventh grade in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Tom hand-built the first snowboard. This board is now exhibited at the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum in Vail, Colorado. In 1963, Tom founded the SIMS brand; probably the first surf, skate, and snow brand worldwide. 

Not skiing, but surfing and skateboarding. Those were Tom's roots, and they shaped his entire approach to snowboarding. The distinction was crucial. For SIMS, it was always about freestyle and fun. Not collecting points. And growing out of this utopian vision of self-expression through radical action, the culture flourished. 

From the beginning, Sims relied on riders to guide and develop each product. This is an inclusive DIY approach that sets the standard, enabling progress in everything from construction and production innovations to technological and product breakthroughs that changed the paradigm. The first board with metal edges, the first pro model; the first dual strap bindings, the first folding highback, the first women's board, and so on. Over decades. Today, SIMS exists to celebrate the past, support progress in the present, and push snowboarding forward into the future.
