D3O® Technology: Say Goodbye to Nose "Slap"
The biggest revolution in the 26/27 collection is the integration of Carbon Reinforced D3O® intelligent laminate directly into the core structure at the front and rear of the board. The D3O® polymer dynamically adapts to your ride:
- At low speeds it remains soft and flexible, ensuring a loose, surf-like feel and ease of maneuvering in dense woods.
- When you gain speed, the D3O® material instantly hardens and stiffens the front of the board. As a result, the Backslash perfectly absorbs micro-vibrations, stabilizes the ride trajectory, and completely eliminates the annoying "slap" of the nose on hard, rough snow.
Redesigned Geometry and Uncompromising Grip
The 26/27 version gained a new, aggressive nose and tail shape with increased lift area, which allows for even easier floatation on bottomless powder. The extended tail with additional kick has drastically improved stability on landings and made riding switch easier.
On hard and icy terrain, the Backslash rides like a precise cleaver. The powerful pop, cross flex, and instant response to impulses are ensured by 30mm carbon stringers running the entire length of the board.
Efficiency in Touring Mode
As a true splitboard, the Backslash in uphill mode uses an advanced Transition Control Core (TCC). It is designed to create two independent, perfectly balanced ski halves when split. This provides maximum efficiency during track laying and stability on steep traverses. The shorter and wider board profile also drastically reduces the so-called swing weight, making ascents significantly less tiring than on a classic long splitboard.
Top-of-the-line Phantom Hercules clips and the Thinserts™ mounting system, which keeps the glide perfectly flat with no protruding screws, are responsible for the stiff and monolithic connection of the halves before the descent.
