Telos DST Splitboard for the 2023/2024 season (classic version, based on fiberglass) is a versatile and stable All-Mountain / Freeride Touring machine. The DST abbreviation (Direct, Directional, Dual-Swallow-Tail) defines its unique shape. The 23/24 version focuses on smooth, predictable flex, excellent impact damping on varied terrain, and high maneuverability, being a more friendly alternative to the stiff Carbon version.
Shape & Profile
- Directional Dual-Swallow-Tail Shape: A directional board with a "dual swallow tail" profile. It guarantees great float in deep snow while allowing easy riding and emergency switch landings. When split into ski mode, the internal edges are perfectly straight, which facilitates movement on the skin track and drastically increases efficiency during tough traverses.
- Dual Camber Profile with Tip & Tail Rockers: Traditional, strong camber directly underfoot provides uncompromising support and grip on climbs and icy terrain. Long rocker zones on the nose and tail facilitate quick turn initiation and prevent the nose from diving in powder.
Construction and Materials
- Transition Control Core: Constructed from selected poplar and paulownia wood as two separate ski cores. This provides perfectly balanced flex for each ski during the approach. The addition of the X-Wood technology stabilizes the transverse stiffness of binding areas, preventing the halves of the board from twisting.
- Fiber-FleX Laminate (Triax): Triaxial fiberglass gives the board a surfy and springy character. It absorbs shocks and micro-vibrations on variable, frozen snow structures excellently.
- Carbon Springs™ Reinforcements: Longitudinal strips of pure carbon fiber running the full length of the board. They are responsible for dynamic pop, quick response, and rebound strength, preventing rapid aging and "bending out" of the flex.
- Eco Nylon Topsheet: Eco-friendly, lightweight top laminate made from castor bean grains. Naturally repels wet snow and is highly resistant to scratches caused by skis rubbing against each other during ascents.
- ELECTRA Base (PTEX 4000): Top-quality, very fast sintered graphite base with a dense molecular structure, which allows maintaining maximum speed on flat sections.
Factory Premium Equipment
- Phantom Hercules Clips: Low profile, excellent tightening, and full reduction of play. In downhill mode, the halves of the splitboard are joined so rigidly that the board rides like a classic solid.
- Aluminum Tail Protection: Metal protectors shield the delicate swallowtail structure from mechanical delamination when in contact with rocks or ice.
Riding Characteristics and Flex
- Flex: Medium-Stiff / Responsive (7/10): Optimal stiffness for all-day backcountry missions. Forgives many more technical errors than the Carbon version, without tiring legs during technical riding in dense forest.
