The Telos Backslash Splitboard from the 2021/2022 season in a distinctive, classic brown graphic (with visible natural wood texture) is a board that revolutionized the Volume Shifted / Alternative Freeride splitboard segment. 

This model is characterized by a unique concept of a wide and short construction, so it is chosen 4 to 8 cm shorter than a standard touring board. This provides a radical reduction in rotational weight during ascents and incredible maneuverability during descents in tight forests.

Shape & Profile
  • Tapered Directional (17 mm taper): A gigantic, very wide front (nose) drastically transitions into a narrower back finished with a slight fishtail. In deep snow, the back automatically sinks into the powder, allowing you to maintain a natural centered stance without constantly weighting the back foot. 
  • Setback Camber Profile with Large Nose Rocker: The classic, strong camber starting behind the center of the board guarantees excellent support underfoot on the skin track and explosive energy and stability downhill. The long, strongly lifted front with rocker immediately "pushes" the splitboard to the surface of fresh snow.
  • Straight Internal Edges: When the splitboard is detached in "ski" mode, the internal edges are completely straight. This provides maximum effective edge, which drastically eases traversing steep, icy slopes.
Construction and Materials (Year 21/22)
  • Transition Control Core (Poplar & Paulownia): A core made of lightweight poplar and paulownia designed as two independent ski cores. This ensures that each of the skis during ascent has perfectly balanced, identical flex.
  • Fiber-FleX Laminate (Triax): Triaxial fiberglass arranged on both sides of the core gives the board a smooth, surfing, and very springy character. It brilliantly absorbs shocks and reduces the dead beat that wide boards are known for on hard snow. 
  • Impact Plates and Carbon Reinforcements: Additional pads under the bindings dampen vibrations, and longitudinal carbon fiber strips (Carbon Stringers) running the entire length of the board ensure monstrous pop and longer flex life. 
  • Polyurethane Sidewalls (PU Sidewalls): The use of polyurethane instead of classic ABS plastic makes the edges highly resistant to impacts (e.g., ski-to-ski collision during ascent) and smoothly absorbs terrain irregularities.
  • Brown ECO Textured Nylon Top: Made from eco-friendly castor beans, the top layer with a rough texture naturally repels wet snow and showcases the beautiful brown wood grain.
  • ELECTRA Base (PTEX 4000): Top-class, very fast sintered base with graphite additive. It guarantees maximum acceleration in dry and cold snow and makes traversing flat sections easier. 
Splitboard Systems and Finish
  • Phantom Hercules Clips: This year's model was factory equipped with gapless, low-profile connecting clamps that rigidly unite the halves of the splitboard – the board rides downhill like a traditional solid.
  • Ceramic Edge Tune & Aluminum Protection: Edges sharpened with ceramic and aluminum protectors (Aluminum Tail Protection) on the nose and tail protect against mechanical damage or delamination.
Ride Characteristics and Flex
  • Flex: Stiff / Responsive (7/10): The board gives a sense of absolute stability and security in technical, steep terrain and with aggressive edge pressure.
